Shopping therapy
In September 1998, after receiving my first salary, I flew from Hanoi to Saigon to make the first shopping trip of my life.
Why do we women buy so much?
We shop an average of 3 hours a week (1.5 hours for clothes, and 1.5 hours for accessories and shoes), we spend twice as much on clothes and personal items than men and children.
The buying and selling of women has consumed so much ink, time, and effort from the entire society, from professors and PhDs in psychology, sociology, market researchers, and experts.

We women have an instinctive desire to shop
Scientists are still in the process of decoding women’s shopping cravings by proving that a part of women’s cerebral cortex is more active when they see dresses and shoes.
We are addicts – new shoes have the ability to make us `higher` than opium.
We are competitive people.
We are frivolous, frivolous people.
For us, shopping is an important occasion for a small group of friends and sisters to bond, understand, and become closer.
Shopping is how we treat mental illness (shopping therapy).
