Makeup secrets of Japanese women
ELLE quickly interviewed Kakuyasu Uchiide, Shu Uemura’s best student, about the beauty philosophy and makeup secrets of Japanese women.
How did Mr. Shu Uemura’s beauty philosophy influence his path to becoming a professional makeup artist?
The “Shu” “Ha” “Ri” philosophy is the core of the Shu Uemura spirit.
“Ha” means that after acquiring basic skills, you must know how to do things that are contrary to the rules, breaking all barriers.
“Ri” is to establish one’s own style.
Japanese women are famous for their white skin. What do you think is the secret to that skin?
It’s about cleaning and always using sunscreen every day.
I believe that women can absolutely wear false eyelashes every day to work, it’s a completely normal thing in Japan.
Can you advise Vietnamese women on the secret to applying thin and beautiful foundation, making eyes look bigger and quickly switching from office makeup to party makeup?
To have a thin foundation requires natural skin to be smooth and bright.
To make Asian eyes look bigger, you can curl your eyelashes and apply false eyelashes.
Applying false eyelashes is the fastest way to transform a normal office makeup look into an impressive party style.
