Gen Z is the first generation born and raised in a world where the Internet has become a global phenomenon.

Sociologist Ray Oldenburg believes that a person usually has three living spaces – the first space is family and biological relationships or marriage, the second space is the workplace or school – where children live.

Social networks or media platforms with multi-dimensional interaction were a new invention for previous generations, but for Gen Z it is a normal thing – they can hardly imagine life without these things.

However, what challenges does this great opportunity bring?

Of course, we cannot only use social networks to evaluate the mental health of Gen Z. However, a 2018 study by the American Psychological Association showed that Gen Z is a group susceptible to mental health problems.

Despite facing countless challenges, Gen Z is also the generation that feels most comfortable sharing about their mental health.

However, openness in acknowledging and discussing these issues does not lead to proactiveness in seeking help from professionals.

Gen Z – with the responsibility of shouldering the future of society – probably does not want to be labeled as an unstable generation.
