New bottle of old wine
Like all other horror movies with a bit of tragedy, The Good Doctor tells the story of Dr. Martin Blake (played by Orlando Bloom) on a dangerous journey to overcome the barriers of medical and ethical principles.
Handsome and charming, Martin has a sickly domineering personality inside, and always wants to show his influence on others, but he is not successful in treating the first patients.
And the familiar doctor-patient love story begins when Martin accepts treatment for Diane, an 18-year-old girl with kidney disease.
It wouldn’t be a problem if Jimmy (Michael Pena) – an elderly patient – finds out and puts pressure on Martin to provide medicine according to his request.
Orlando transformed
The character Martin Blake marks Orlando Bloom’s return with an image completely different from his previous gentleman characters.
Orlando Bloom has portrayed the inner thoughts and mental fluctuations of a doctor, who always has to fight against disease and win the survival of his patients.
The film is not too heavy with horror scares, but the crime is committed openly, making viewers feel threatened and tense.
The film is also an awareness of medical ethics, which is always of top concern to society.
